About us What we do

What we do

CL:AIRE is committed to providing a valuable service for all those involved in contaminated land. We develop training resources, disseminate information and act as a credible resource for all stakeholders, ensuring we remain at the cutting-edge of best practice and innovation. Our portfolio of technology demonstration and research projects report on successes and lessons learnt, so that a thorough understanding of the application of new technologies can be achieved.

The following are key areas of activity for CL:AIRE:

1. Free information services

By disseminating information and acting as a credible resource for all stakeholders, CL:AIRE remains at the cutting-edge of best practice and innovation. Our free information service provides individuals the ability to sign up to monthly eAlerts on News and Events containing relevant updates from the Brownfield industry, and download selected technical bulletins.

4. CL:AIRE Project Partnership

CL:AIRE encourages project partners to undertake technology demonstration and research projects (“CL:AIRE projects”) to raise the contaminated land industry's awareness of, and confidence in, technologies that have been applied on real sites. CL:AIRE is also heavily involved with a number of other projects and industry-led initiatives (e.g. Waste Code of Practice, Generic Assessment Criteria, SuRF-UK) and plays a significant role in the dissemination of useful, relevant and peer-reviewed information on issues affecting the brownfield and contaminated land sector.

CL:AIRE actively seeks the participation of site owners, consultants, developers, remediation companies, technology providers and academics to become project partners.
