The Site for Innovative Research into Monitored Natural Attenuation

SIReN was a National Facility for research into Monitored Natural Attenuation (MNA) under UK conditions. SIReN was a joint initiative between AEA Technology, CL:AIRE, Environment Agency and Shell Global Solutions. The SIReN research facility was located at a large petrochemical manufacturing plant and was officially launched at the GQ2001 meeting in Sheffield, UK.

From October 2002 until January 2006, administration of the SIReN project was funded by Biffaward Landfill Tax Credit Scheme with third party funding from the Energy Institute.
