MHCLG publishes new NPPF following consultation The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has published its new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). It sets out the government's policies for plan-making and for making decisions in development proposals in England and how these are expected to be applied. The new NPPF is available here.

MHCLG updates Planning Practice Guidance for new Defra Biodiversity Net Gain exemptionsThe Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has updated its Planning Practice Guidance (PPG) on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) exemptions which came into force for planning applications made from 6 August. The new exemptions are aimed to help reduce the burdens on the smallest developers and local authorities and focus resources on larger developments, which have the potential to deliver the greatest benefits to nature. RemTech Europe and Sustainathon programmes now live RemTech Europe, International Conference and Exhibition on land and water remediation markets and technologies is taking place between 14-18 September 2026 and has now published its programme. The first two days of the conference will be fully digital, and broadcast live. The other three days will be hybrid. The whole event is FREE to attend, but registration is required. RemTech Europe is also pleased to present Sustainathon 2026, a global virtual marathon dedicated to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Further information and registration is available here.
The FREE event will take place 14:00 - 23:00 (CEST) on 24 September 2026 and 07:30 to 14:00 (CEST) on 25 September 2026. It will bring together speakers from across the world in a continuous online format spanning multiple time zones. Throughout the marathon, participants will share inspiring insights, successful initiatives, and innovative approaches that highlight progress towards one or more of the 17 SDGs. |
