The Scottish Government is proposing changes to the legislation that regulates groundwater and has included them in a consultation, Protecting Scotland’s groundwater from pollution, published on the SEPA consultation hub. SEPA is also proposing changes to its guidance to support the government proposals and is running consultations on its supporting guidance:

 - Land contamination and impacts on the water environment

 - WAT-PS-10 Assigning groundwater assessment criteria for pollutant inputs

 The consultation closes 12 February 2021.
