November has been a particularly busy month for everyone here at CL:AIRE. Our 20th Anniversary Conference took place on 14 November in London and to everyone who came, thank you for coming, it was great to see you all and we hope you enjoyed the day.
If you have any feedback you'd like us to hear, please let us know.
We're now busy preparing the promised followup documents and videos and will make them available to attendees and members as soon as possible.
We've also started announcing new training dates for 2020 (see the right-hand column of this eAlert), and more will be announced in December.

| In Spring 2019, CL:AIRE undertook an industry wide consultation to gather stakeholders feedback about a proposed development of a gas protection verification accreditation scheme. The scheme seeks to raise standards in membrane verification and provide all stakeholders involved in land contamination management with enough confidence that risks associated with ground gases have been adequately managed.

| The CL:AIRE TRG and Principal Members reviewed a proposed ‘DoW CoP Version 3’ back in 2017; it was submitted to the EA for its approval. Due to internal changes, the EA was not in a position to do this; furthermore, its legal teams had concerns regarding some of the original text in version 2 and new scope items.

| CL:AIRE is pleased to announced the final INSPIRATION bulletin has been published, taking the total to 14. INSPIRATION Bulletin IB11 describes the development and application of a freely available decision support tool to mitigate nutrients in drainage waters.
INSPIRATION bulletins describe practical aspects of research which have direct application to the management of contaminated soil or groundwater in an agricultural context.

| CL:AIRE's successful asbestos in soil training courses go from strength to strength and have recently met a key milestone by training more than 1000 professionals in asbestos related courses in two years. New 2020 dates are now available, so ensure you book early to avoid disappointment.

| The Uni. of Plymouth School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences invites CL:AIRE Members to meet current students in relevant disciplines at this careers fair on the 26 February 2020 in Plymouth.
This annual event is sponsored by the Geological Society of London (South West Regional Group) and is attended by numerous companies, primarily in the engineering geology, geo-environmental and hydrocarbon fields.
