Nicola Harries was fortunate to attend SustRem 2018 last month held in Sao Paulo, Brazil where she presented two papers, one on UK experience and lessons learned on brownfield regeneration and sharing some of the myths about sustainable remediation.

This was an extremely important conference as it was the first international conference in Latin America focusing on the topic of sustainable remediation. Over 450 delegates attended from across the globe, with the additional benefit of live streaming of many of the presentations. The conference programme was wide reaching with a strong focus on the social challenges associated with remediating sites.
