It is with great sadness that we share the news that Doug Laidler has recently passed away. Doug was a hugely respected professional consultant working on land contamination matters for many years and was the secretary of SAGTA.

As many know, SAGTA was instrumental in supporting the establishment of CL:AIRE and that support has continued, much due to Doug's enthusiasm. Doug was also a founding steering group member of the Definition of Waste: Development Industry Code of Practice (DOW:COP). He was extremely respected and well liked and will be sadly missed by the profession.
