WHO is organising a launch event titled: Planning brief on protecting health through the redevelopment of contaminated sites on 6 December 2021 from 10.00-11.30 (CET). Further information and to register is available here.

The WHO planning brief summarises the lessons learned across Europe on the redevelopment of contaminated sites as a part of urban planning and renewal interventions. Specifically, it aims to:

•    provide information on the health and environmental impacts to be considered during redevelopment, and
•    identify good practice to support effective, healthy and sustainable redevelopment of contaminated sites.

The key messages of the planning brief are of interest for local decision-makers, urban planners and practitioners, researchers, and civil society organisations.
