Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) has published the Land Use Framework for England. It sets out how England can use its land more effectively. The Framework has 3 sections:

  • A vision for England's future landscape,
  • A set of principles to inform how decisions are made about land and
  • Actions Defra will take to support land use change, in partnership with others.

This is the first Land Use Framework for England and further iterations will be published. It will be updated every five years to reflect progress and incorporate evolving data and evidence.
