Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) has published its response to the groundwater and surface water discharge activities consultation that was carried out in Autumn 2021. Defra has now made provisions to make amendments to the Environmental Permitting Regulations (England and Wales) 2016 relating to the permitting of groundwater discharge activities.
