CL:AIRE is pleased to announce that "Good Practice for Risk Assessment for Coal Mine Gas Emissions" has been published and is now free to download from the CL:AIRE website.
This new guidance was written by Steve Wilson (Environmental Protection Group / STRi Group Limited), Dr. Tom Henman (RSK Environment Limited), Alex Lee (WSP UK Limited) and Richard Meredith (GeoEnvironmental Consulting Ltd).
- provides advice that could be regarded as essential reading towards understanding coal mine gas risk assessment.
- is a collation of current understanding of coal mine gas risks and seeks to assist in the formulation of appropriately robust mine gas risk assessments in the UK.
- provides a decision framework and presents those factors an assessor would be expected to have considered if delivering standard good practice.
The intended audience of this document is those involved in commissioning and undertaking mine gas risk assessments to support proposed development, and local authority officers involved in regulating development management through the planning or building control regimes.
